Commenting on jet noise pollution in Burlington's New North End: my mother (91) is a resident in Birchwood Manor, along with 49 other Alzheimer sufferers. She and I were sitting in Birchwood's garden yesterday (8/15/2012); as VT National Guard jets passed overhead mother asked what was causing the noise and she craned her neck each time a jet screamed overhead. Birchwood Manor is across the street from one of Burlington's elementary schools, which is next door to another assisted care facility, which is next door to a City park. Burlington's bike path runs through this immediate residential area. These facilities account for hundreds if not thousands of people who are subjected to these jet noises on a frequent basis. Concerned citizens, voters and City officials are invited to visit this area to listen for themselves how Burlington residents are also affected by jet noise.
